We took the Green Line from Boylston Station to Fenway Station. Signs to get you from the subway station to the ballpark.
The corner of Yawkey Way and Brookline Ave.
Looking down Yawkey Way.
Our entrance gate was on the other side of the stadium.
Found our gate, but a long line-up waiting for the gates to open at 5:30PM.
Despite the line-up it moved surprisingly fast.
The centre field scoreboard.
Jose Bautista.
Angela and Claudia on the railing waiting for a batting practice home run ball to come their way. There were a couple that were in the vicinity.
We walked around the stadium to the home plate side. Our seats were just above the NESN sign in the outfield in the second row.
Angela and Claudia with the Green Monster in the background.
Some of the views from other sections in the ballpark.
Not sure how much they charge for the folding chair after the last row of seats.
The concourse area under the seats. Beer is almost the same price as Skydome, but in US dollars, so probably more expensive.
Me and my $9 draft beer at Fenway.
The girls and Susan (with my $9 draft beer).
The bullpen areas.
We couldn’t see the big screen for replays easily, we would have to keep turning around. Claudia complained she was lost without it, imagine what they did at baseball games before the digital age.
The Jays started the night holding the second wild card place, and still had it at the end of the night, although they didn’t pick up any ground on Baltimore who won in 12 innings.
Late afternoon.
Evening.
There were a lot of Blue Jays fans in the stadium. The people in front of us were from Ottawa.
Game over. Jays win! You can see Bautista, Gose and Cabrera doing their celebratory jump in the outfield.
The final stats for the game. It was a great experience.
