More Confirmation Photos

I forgot I had taken some pictures of Claudia and Gillian at the church prior to her Confirmation.

Gillian was Claudia’s sponsor.

Blog Update

After a few months I have updated the blog. A lot has happened, and little time to keep up. Will try harder moving forward to keep it more regular.

Claudia’s Confirmation

Claudia had her Confirmation today. She is growing up to be a fine young lady just like her sisters.

Susan and I with our baby. Congratulations Claudia!

Cast Free

Claudia had her cast removed today after 4 weeks with her permanent cast and a week with a partial cast. It didn’t look like a scrawny chicken leg. The doctor said it had healed up nicely and she is good as new. Here she is waiting for her x-ray after having the cast sawed off.

R.A. Dickey Bobblehead Day

We headed down to Rogers Centre for the Blue Jays game. It was R.A. Dickey bobble head day and R.A. Dickey was pitching.

Before the game we were down near the field. Brett Lawrie waiting to take some BP.

The first pitch.

Jose Bautista.

Edwin Encarnacion with one of his 2 hits.

It was a good game, mainly because the Jays won after losing the previous 4 games.

Happy fans, a bobble head each and a victory.

After the game we went for noodles for dinner. We tried Oniwa on King Street, but they were closed. So we headed up to Dundas Street to go to Kenzo Ramen.

The box score from the game.

Chloe Haircut

Chloe’s was in dire need of a haircut, I finally decided to buy a set of clippers and give it a go myself. The actual grooming of her body only took 15 minutes, but it was about a week of prep trying to get her mat free so the clippers could cut easily. It started with a bath that was badly needed after the winter. It should be easier from this point on, and she should look a little better as I figure out (via YouTube) how to do a better job trimming her paws and face area.

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter to our family and friends. Thanks to Carolyn and Danny for a great dinner on Good Friday.

Rattray Marsh Clean-up

We went down to the Rattray Marsh to volunteer for the annual clean-up. Claudia’s Pathfinder group always helps. There was a lot of fog on Lake Ontario.

The marsh.

there was still some ice hanging around.

Claudia trying to skip stones with her bum arm. Couldn’t remember if she can skip stones with a good arm.

Any chance for Claudia to get in the water she takes it.

Chloe looking pretty shaggy.

Fracture Girl

Claudia had an interesting week. She started it off by hurting her hand playing basketball at school on Thursday. On Saturday, she had soccer practice, we thought, it was just skills, no contact. Turns out she gets run over by one of the girls and lands on the same arm. After a visit to the walk-in clinic and not being very confident of the prognosis, we headed to emerg at Credit Valley. Here is Claudia in the fracture room (more like a hallway) with her partial cast. The emerg doctor called it a Greenstick fracture. We left after 4 hours with an appointment for the following friday at the fracture clinic.

After being seen by the doctor at the fracture clinic, Claudia had a permanent cast put on, that she would wear for 4 weeks. Her choices were plaster (free paid by OHIP), synthetic ($30) or waterproof synthetic ($60). We went with the waterproof cast and she had her choice of colour. The fracture clinic doctor called it a buckle fracture.

It will be weird seeing her with the cast everyday.

Flat Valley Solar

I was out in Flat Valley, Saskatchewan this week installing a solar array at one of our temporary sites.

We are set-up on the property of the landowner who holds our lease for our permanent site about 1km away.

A view to the south, we should no problem finding the sun.

On the way back to Saskatoon, we stopped in North Battleford to see the giant Mountie on a horse. It is 23 feet high and was built in 1963.

Nearby is this buffalo that is made from barbed wire.
