We celebrated Susan’s birthday today.
We gave her some gnomes for the garden.
Happy Birthday!
We have a sparrow fledging that is a little demanding of its mother. It likes to sit in the tree and chirp away until it’s fed. It is able to fly on its own, but it can’t fly to the feeder. It looks like Totoro.

It gets all excited when the mother comes and starts flapping its wings.
Today we headed out to Crawford Lake Conservation Area on Guelph Line south of the 401. They have some new wood sculptures on the trails.
Chloe posing with the salamander.
And again with the turtle.
Crawford Lake, we took the trail around the lake.
A selfie with my wide angle.
Most of the trail on the one side of the lake is raised boardwalks.
We found some frogs along the trail.
More of the wood sculptures.
They have a reconstructed 15th century Iroquoian village.
The last time I was here was almost 10 years ago, in October 2006 with Angela’s Grade 3 school trip.
Chloe was a tired dog when we got home, she even laid down in the backseat on the way home.
Gillian and I had no problem getting our Kevin Pillar bobbleheads. When we headed to the Westjet Flight Deck, the lines to take photos with the Kevin Pillar cutouts were short. Here we are with Pillar, Saunders, and Encarnacion.
We found the giant Josh Donaldson Bobblehead.
This was the lineup outside Gate 10 at 11:10am, about 20 minutes after the gates opened. When we walked by the entrance, there was about 8 cases of bobbleheads left, there might be 50 per case. There were a lot of disappointed fans.
The lineup to get into the Jays Shop.
We were sitting in Section 512R, Seats 11 and 12. Some of the pre-game show had a bit on the Jays players as super heroes, Edwin Encarnacion was the Incredible Hulk.
The first pitch, it was a good pitchers duel. J.A. Happ was on the hill for the Jays. He allowed one hit over six innings. The bullpen followed with a shutout 7-8-9th.
It was Clark Kent Pillar.
Instead of the usual photos of the players when they were batting, they put up photos of them as Super Heroes. Her is Josh Donaldson as Thor.
After a good play they would flash up this Wow!! Awesome! with Pillar.
The final boxscore.
We headed out early this morning with Gillian to the St. Jacobs Farmers’ Market. It has been a few years since we have been there, like 15 or so. The girls were little, we had a stroller and we went to the town of St Jacob’s. The Farmers’ Market has had a couple of fires in the past few years and things have been re-built. There were lots of fruits and vegetables.
Here is Gillian feeling the peaches to see how firm they were, and then getting scolded by the old lady in the background that she was leaving fingerprints on the peaches.
It was hot out in the sun.
Lots of cucumbers.
The main building in the centre of the photo.
We bought some Black Bean Salsa.
I like how the morning sun catches some of the birds that visit the feeder.
Today Susan, Gillian, Chloe and I went on a hike at Rattlesnake Point Conservation Area. The weather was perfect, not too hot.
There is a lot of rock climbers that frequent it.
The last time we were here was in 2011, the girls and I had come on a PA Day. Chloe didn’t like the grated steps back then, and she didn’t like them going up or down. Here is a video of her going back up the stairs. At least this time she went on her own, last time we ended up carrying her up and down.
Gillian and Susan in a makeshift teepee.
Trying to get some burrs off of Chloes face.
We did the Buffalo Crag Lookout trail.
I can do selfies with my 10-20mm wide angle lens.
After we dropped Angela and Claudia off at the airport, we headed down to Celebration Square at City Hall to check out the Japan Festival Mississauga.
The Square was pretty busy, they had vendors set-up around the fountain.
This was one of the lineups for some of the food. There were lots of food vendors and each of them had ridiculous lineups.
We didn’t stick around that long, it was hot and we didn’t feel like waiting in the lineups.
