Claudia celebrated her birthday on Wednesday. We were able to have cake after her soccer game and picking up Mom from her night meeting. Gillian made a marble cake that was delicious.
Things I remember…
When I was a kid, I remember Dad going to Winnipeg. When he had the roll of film developed, there were probably pictures of relatives, but the one I remember is the picture taken out the window of the wing of the airplane.
These days I take between 30-40 flights a year and usually choose an aisle seat. This week on my way to Gander I was seated at a window. Upon looking out the window I saw the airplane wing and the first thing that came to mind was Dad’s picture taken almost 40 years ago. As a kid airplanes were such a mystery, and my only encounters were what you saw in the sky or when we went to the old Terminal 1 at Pearson to meet arriving relatives.
I didn’t fly on an airplane until I was 15 years old, now I take it for granted and just consider it part of my job. Here is my photo of the CRJ-200 wing of Air Canada flight #8862 from Halifax (CYHZ) to Gander (CYQX).
Chloe Chasing Laser
Claudia was teasing Chloe with the laser pointer.
Dancing Usher
When we were at the last Blue Jays game the usher (not to be confused with rap artist ‘Usher’) near our seats was really getting into the music between innings.
Blog Update
After a few months I have updated the blog. A lot has happened, and little time to keep up. Will try harder moving forward to keep it more regular.
R.A. Dickey Bobblehead Day
We headed down to Rogers Centre for the Blue Jays game. It was R.A. Dickey bobble head day and R.A. Dickey was pitching.
Before the game we were down near the field. Brett Lawrie waiting to take some BP.
The first pitch.
Jose Bautista.
Edwin Encarnacion with one of his 2 hits.
It was a good game, mainly because the Jays won after losing the previous 4 games.
Happy fans, a bobble head each and a victory.
After the game we went for noodles for dinner. We tried Oniwa on King Street, but they were closed. So we headed up to Dundas Street to go to Kenzo Ramen.
The box score from the game.

Chloe Haircut
Chloe’s was in dire need of a haircut, I finally decided to buy a set of clippers and give it a go myself. The actual grooming of her body only took 15 minutes, but it was about a week of prep trying to get her mat free so the clippers could cut easily. It started with a bath that was badly needed after the winter. It should be easier from this point on, and she should look a little better as I figure out (via YouTube) how to do a better job trimming her paws and face area.
