I received this newspaper article from Shanna today, she had it sent to her from a friend. Click on the article to open the PDF.
Hershey Centre Family Day
Last night while Claudia and I were out we saw a sign for free skating at the Hershey Centre today. It was Free Family Day at the Hershey Centre including skating on the rink, free hot dogs, pepsi products and popcorn. It went from 12-4 pm, we got there around 12:45pm and it was empty. We had our hot dog and drink before skating, not many people on the ice.

The Zamboni.
Even after the flood, there still weren’t a lot of people. Just before the flood there were some of the Mississauga St Mike’s Majors on the ice. There was no sign of Hazel at the rink, but we left around 2:30 pm.

Christmas Tree
We headed out this afternoon to buy our Christmas Tree. We went to our usual place on Ninth Line in Oakville to cut down our tree. The trees are hanging from the rafters, this allows you to spin the trees to see it from all sides. Once you pick a tree, one of the guys will “cut” it down for you.
With the rain today, it wasn’t that busy, I’m sure they were working overtime to replace all the trees sold on Saturday.

Happy 16th Birthday Gillian!
Gillian had her birthday party Saturday night, it started with dinner at home for her friends followed by skating at the Meadowvale Four Rinks.
A round of “Happy Birthday” from her friends.

We had the ice rented from 9:30 to 11:00 PM.

We had a few hockey sticks. Everyone enjoyed taking turns shooting the puck around.

Hard to believe that 16 years have passed since Gillian arrived. This morning we are at the DriveTest office in Brampton. Gillian is writing her G1 test, she has been processed and is waiting to write the test.
Gillian passed her test and is now a licensed G1 driver. She drove home from the corner store.
Gillian’s Curling Begins
Gillian started her curling season with a bonspiel at the Brampton Curling Club. She will be playing on the senior mixed team this year. The bonspiel was for the girls only, so her and another team mate were paired up with a couple of girls from another school. Gillian is the one with the hat.

The Muppets!

We went to see the new Muppet movie today. It’s good to see them back on the big screen, it has been 11 years since their last theatre release movie. It was a good movie, funny and lots of unexpected cameo appearances by current stars. Looking forward to the DVD release.
