Blue Jays Win!

Gillian and I had no problem getting our Kevin Pillar bobbleheads. When we headed to the Westjet Flight Deck, the lines to take photos with the Kevin Pillar cutouts were short. Here we are with Pillar, Saunders, and Encarnacion.

We found the giant Josh Donaldson Bobblehead.

IMG_20160724_110621

This was the lineup outside Gate 10 at 11:10am, about 20 minutes after the gates opened. When we walked by the entrance, there was about 8 cases of bobbleheads left, there might be 50 per case. There were a lot of disappointed fans.

The lineup to get into the Jays Shop.

IMG_20160724_112307

We were sitting in Section 512R, Seats 11 and 12. Some of the pre-game show had a bit on the Jays players as super heroes, Edwin Encarnacion was the Incredible Hulk.

IMG_20160724_123039

The first pitch, it was a good pitchers duel. J.A. Happ was on the hill for the Jays. He allowed one hit over six innings. The bullpen followed with a shutout 7-8-9th.

IMG_20160724_130816

It was Clark Kent Pillar.

IMG_20160724_131907

Instead of the usual photos of the players when they were batting, they put up photos of them as Super Heroes. Her is Josh Donaldson as Thor.

IMG_20160724_140524

After a good play they would flash up this Wow!! Awesome! with Pillar.

The final boxscore.

They’re Back!

Angela and Claudia have arrived back from Switzerland. We’re glad to have them home. Susan sent this picture when they cleared customs.

Kevin Pillar Bobblehead Game

The line’s are busy and long for the Pillar bobblehead game. The line on the left is for gates 1 and 2. The one on the right is for gates 3 and 4. Both lines went down to Front St. The roof is being opened. Looking to avoid the sweep.

One More Sleep

We heard from the girls, they are at the Transit Hotel at the Zurich Airport. They have a 7:00 am flight from Zurich to Amsterdam and then it’s on to Toronto. They are scheduled to arrive at 11:45am. Susan will be off to meet the girls, as Gillian and I are going to the Kevin Pillar Bobblehead Blue Jays game.

Here are some more Instagram posts from Twinkle. Visiting the Medieval Castle in Oberhofen.

St Jacobs Farmers’ Market

We headed out early this morning with Gillian to the St. Jacobs Farmers’ Market. It has been a few years since we have been there, like 15 or so. The girls were little, we had a stroller and we went to the town of St Jacob’s. The Farmers’ Market has had a couple of fires in the past few years and things have been re-built. There were lots of fruits and vegetables.

Here is Gillian feeling the peaches to see how firm they were, and then getting scolded by the old lady in the background that she was leaving fingerprints on the peaches.

It was hot out in the sun.

20160723-D7K_2274

Lots of cucumbers.

We bought some Black Bean Salsa.

Day 12- Adventure Park

Today we went to a place where we could zip line, jump off a bridge, and do some high ropes. It was very fun, especially the jumping off the bridge. We also were able to climb up the actual mountain and I reached the top of my rope. The extra activity we could do was the pendulum swing for 20 Chf but it was thundering so unfortunately we didn’t get that option. We also had Swiss night tonight and I saw a really cool cloud.

Day 11- Program Day

Today we had a full day of Programme. I started a fire with only one match, talked about body positivity, learned about how we can contribute to help our environment, and learned how to use a compass. The Programme wasn’t too bad except that it is really hot in the sun. At night we had the international night but only 2 countries were represented (Canada and USA). My group did a skit and I was Howie Mandel.

Day 10- Our Chalet

We took a 6 hour train and bus ride to get to our chalet. We then had to walk 20 minutes up the mountain to get to the actual Chalet. The walk wasn’t too bad as the view is quite nice wherever you are. The stars are also really vibrant and the staff and welcoming.

Day 8- Neuschwanstein Castle

Today we headed to a castle and a cheese farm. We took a van and went on the autobahn and went up to 150! We then headed to two churches that were both exquisite. The mountains around Munich are so beautiful. After the churches we went to a cheese farm and ate cheese and meat and got to pet goats and rabbits. Then we headed to the castle! The tour was short as it was an incomplete castle before the king died but the sight of is was amazing. On the way back we stopped in a field for more pictures and the police came and talked to the tour guides but everything was okay. This was one of the best days yet!

Day 9 – Austria and the sound of music

I know I have skipped a day but I will upload it tomorrow!! Monday was the sound of music tour! We thought it was a bus but it was actually a rickshaw, which is a where they push you around on a bike. It was so fun and a beautiful way to see the city. We went and visited some historic buildings and visited different places where the movie was filmed. A lot of it is “movie magic” to make it seem really fancy. I drank some minyan water from a little well in the city. The tour was great and they drivers were really nice. Tomorrow we are off to Switzerland so it won’t be too busy. We love and miss everyone!
