Angela discovered that she and some of her friends were on Googlemaps Streetview. Of course my first response was why she wasn’t walking on the sidewalk?

We headed out to Mom and Dad’s for New Years. There wasn’t enough snow this year to go tobogganing. Here is Angela and Chloe in front of Grandma and Grandpa’s house. They received a certificate from the office of the city councillor for Ward 43 for their front garden this year. It was in recognition of beautifying the neighbourhood. I asked if they had a picture of it, but they didn’t, so this is the best I can do.

Almost dinner time.

Brad was in Montreal, so Melissa was taking pictures of his favourite foods and sending them to him.

Dessert time.

The girls got snowshoes for Christmas, but no snow to go with it. Here are Angela and Claudia trying them out in the backyard.

The Swan’s were over for Boxing Day turkey soup and sandwiches. Susan had made a turkey earlier in the week, but we weren’t allowed to have any (She did let me have enough for a turkey sandwich in my lunch on Christmas Eve). Claudia had a hard time figuring out why Mom had made a turkey, but we weren’t eating it. Here is Grandma and Claudia playing triangular Blokus.

Ready for dessert.

Once we were back from church, the girls were right into their presents. Claudia behind her giant box of Lego.

Gillian with her hair dryer, I think this is the one Santa was asking her about when they went to see Santa.

Merry Christmas to all of our family and friends. Here is our yearly family photo. We had two good ones, but this one caught Chloe giving Claudia a big smooch.

Here is our photo of the girls in their santa hats.

And with their Olympic Mittens. See Chloe holding her hat.

The girls were serving at 8:00 mass, so they were up early to check out what Santa brought. They were allowed to open their stocking presents before church, but had to wait until we got back to finish. Here are some round 1 photos.

We got our tree up and decorated. We discovered that some of our lights didn’t work, so Susan went to buy a new string of lights. The new ones were LED and once we got them on, the LED’s made the tree look green and the old lights made the tree look brown. Of course that wouldn’t do, so the old lights needed to be replaced. For the first week or two, Chloe thought the tree was her personal chew and water station. If she wasn’t trying to drink the water, then she was either chewing on the branches or stealing the ornaments at the bottom of the tree. She is either getting better or we have now moved all the ornaments from the bottom of the tree and there is nothing left.

The girls built a snowman on the back deck and Chloe sat there and barked at it for awhile.

Eventually she stopped barking and decided she was going to chew on his arm.

Chloe is still adjusting to the snow. The first morning it really snowed she spent a lot of time running around trying to catch the snowflakes. She digs, she eats the snow and she pees wherever she wants. We shovelled off the deck and some of the grass area for her. Since there is still snow on the deck she hasn’t quite figured out that under the snow is the deck. Next time it snows we’ll have to shovel just a trail for her to get out to the grass. Claudia shovelled the deck and more of the deck is showing, so now she goes right out to the grass.

She comes in from the outside and she has snow all stuck to her beard.

Chloe likes to look out the window, especially when someone goes out the door.
