Finally Some Snow

The girls were happy that we finally got some snow that stuck around. Angela and Claudia’s first snowman.

Chloe enjoying the snow.

Claudia taking a break.

Chloe is pretty good about sitting for a picture.

Later in the day I set up the camera on a tripod and then was throwing the ball for her. Using the remote for the shutter I was able to catch her catching the ball.

Around The House

Some pictures from today. It’s nice being able to see Chloe’s face.

Not sure what she is looking at or thinking about.

Chloe’s Christmas Do

Chloe went to the groomers today for a long overdue trim. She was one shaggy dog, and we have been lucky that we haven’t had a lot of wet snow. Here she is before her appointment.

Looking a little scrawny after her haircut.

Chloe started to look a little shaggy again.

PA Day

The girls had a PA Day last Friday. We headed out to Rattlesnake Point Conservation Area for a walk with Chloe. If she didn’t have leaves stuck to her it was burrs.

The one trail leads along the edge of the escarpment.

Looking across to Mt Nemo.

Angela and Claudia climbing the rocks.

Gillian taking the easy way up.

There are a lot of rock climbing areas. There are points all along the top with ropes hooked on.

Watch out below!

Chloe finally found a portion of the wall short enough for her to see over.

We learned today that Chloe doesn’t like stairs she can see through. There were grated stairs that lead down the escarpment. She wouldn’t go down, so Angela carried her down to the first landing. Then we tried to get her to come down another flight and she wasn’t having any of it.

There were quite a few people rock climbing while we were there.

After Rattlesnake Point we headed to Hilton Falls Conservation Area. On the way to the falls Chloe started going down the grated stairs, although these ones weren’t as open as the other ones.

The falls were more of a trickle, we’ll have to go back when the creek is running a little more.

They had the fire pit going, too bad we didn’t bring any marshmellows.

Started off on another trail until we realized it was for mountain biking only.

The walk out to the falls was 4km one way. The weather was great and we had great time on the trails.

First Day of School!

Our 13th “First Day of School”. The girls had a good first day, got their classes and teachers sorted out. Here are the girls and Chloe later in the day.

After school they were out in the backyard on the ship with Maddy from next door.

I tried to find a picture from their younger years and found this one from 2004, seven years ago, not sure what Gillian is wearing on her head. The girls are on the ship, note our little maple tree in the background.

Chloe looking pretty happy to have everyone back home.

Soccer Update

This is the last week for soccer for both Claudia and Angela. As it is they both have two games this week, they are playing on Saturday to make up the early season rainouts. Check out the guy down the line with the chair and footrest, he sat there the whole game with his feet sticking into the field of play.

Chloe decided that if he can be in the field of play than so can she. Actually I think she was laying there during half time.  Claudia thinks the final score was 2-2.

Soccer Practice

We headed over to the school Sunday night to give Claudia some practice in goal. This week she has to play net for one half of her game.

One of the trees out back of the school. It looks like a pretty symmetrical tree, the goal will be to come back in each season and take a picture.

Back to Blogging

I am finally getting around to updating the blog for this summer, it’s not that we haven’t been doing things, if anything, we have been doing too much. It will take a while to get this complete, I’ve taken close to 2000 photos since the last post back in May. Last night we watched “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” outside in the backyard with the Carr’s. This has been our 4th or 5th movie this summer that we have done outside. Last Sunday we watched “Get Smart”. I’ve gotten the set-up to the point where it only takes 10-15 minutes and we now have four locations we can mount or makeshift screen between our house and our neighbours.

Backyard theatre

On Friday morning, Angela, Claudia, Chloe and I were up early to head over to the Leash-free dog park. It is about five minutes from the house. Claudia and I went last Saturday morning, but it was after 9:00 am when we got there and there had to be over 30 dogs at the park. Chloe has quite figured out what she is suppose to do. She barks at the big dogs, sometimes running towards them, but as soon as they turn, she high tails it back to us. Friday she would run under one of the picnic tables. Here is Angela doing some scooping after Chloe did her business.

Dog park

The girls managed to find a caterpillar while they were in the woods with Chloe.

Caterpillar

The girls have been looking after Lily and Loki, the two pugs that live next door, for the past couple of weeks. They have been feeding, playing and walking them while our neighbours are away. Their oldest is home, but not always around. They have been watering the plants and veggies as well. Here is Lily trying to get in our house.

Lily

Chloe has been playing with the pugs everyday, her and Loki run laps around the backyards. By the evening she is pooped. Here she is kind of in and out of her bed.
