Happy 16th Birthday Claudia! Where has the time gone. Claudia had a couple of friends over to celebrate her special day.
A photo from the archives, this was taken 16 years to the day. It was our first “selfie”, well before selfie’s were a thing. I remember Susan had gone to the washroom and I had Dad’s HP200 1 megapixel camera, so I took a photo of Claudia and I.
We needed some dead branches trimmed on the maple tree so Claudia volunteered to go up the tree.
Chloe got a haircut and a bath. Then she promptly rolled around in the garden.
Congratulations are in order for Gillian on getting a co-op job with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada this summer. Thanks for Grandma and Papa for driving her to the interview last week. The job is in Vineland.
Angela received another university offer, this one is from the University of Guelph in the Bachelor of Science Human Kinetics program.
Claudia received all A’s on her first semester report card. Another job well done!
Claudia had her last soccer game on Wednesday. Her playoffs were this past Saturday, but we were going to be on vacation, so she missed it. She played goal the first half.
She had a good first half, their team were leading at the half.
From what I heard she also had a great game in goal last week and kept her team in the game. Even the referee commented on how well she did after the game.

Claudia during an injury time-out. Her team played a great game and won 3-2. The wins were few and far between this summer, but they had fun.
Wednesday evening was Claudia’s soccer game, she played mid-field for the first half and played well. Her ball control was really good in this game, I heard the guy next to us tell his wife that number 7 is so smooth when she receives the ball. She played goal in the second half. Here is the only goal she let in, on a free kick, it was just the right arc and height to go over her outstretched hands.

Claudia received her guiding Canada Cord to wrap up her three years in Pathfinders. She also has her Provincial Recognition Ceremony coming up in a couple of weeks.
Next year she is off to Rangers with Angela. It will be an exciting year as their group will be heading to Germany and Switzerland for 2 weeks.
She also received her Pathfinder Citizenship Certificate.

After the ceremony we headed off to the soccer field for Claudia’s first soccer game.
She played in the second half. Their team lost 4-2.
The girls finished their soccer seasons on the Saturday. Claudia played in a quarter final game. Unfortunately they lost 2-0. Here she is shooting on net.
Angela’s team had a bye to the semi-final game. She played goal the entire game.
They faced the undefeated orange team. Halfway through the second half the coaches on both teams got into an argument. Orange, as they have been all year were running up the score in a shortened game. The halves were only 25 minutes long.
Angela kept it close and played a very good game. Her defence didn’t provide much help on this day.
Wednesday nights are Claudia’s soccer games. With all my travel this spring/summer I haven’t been able to catch to many of her games. The last game I took her to only Claudia and one of the coach’s daughters showed up. It was a rainy night, there were exams and grade eight graduations going on.

Her team took the early lead 1-0, but the yellow team tied it up on a sloppy play in front of their own goal.
Today was Claudia’s graduation luncheon and dance. Due to the small class size (33 students) they now have it at the school. Gillian took some great photos of Claudia and then drove her to school.

We had our final Grade 8 graduation at St. Richard School. After 15 years at the school, Claudia has completed grade 8, it started with Gillian entering junior kindergarten back in 1999. Here are the girls outside of the church. I think my lens had some condensation on it because it was so hot out.
Claudia has grown considerably more than either Gillian or Angela. See our photo from Angela’s graduation.

The school trustee, Esther O’Toole, gave a nice speech to the graduates before the mass. She was trying to attend four graduations in one night.

Here is Claudia going up for her diploma. Claudia was receiving her Honours Award for achieving honours both terms. Well done Claudia!

After they handed out the 33 diplomas, they handed out the awards. To our surprise, Claudia was awarded the Catholic Leadership Award. Here she is receiving her loot, in addition to her plaque, she also received a framed certificate and a bible.
The Catholic Leadership Award is given to one student who best exemplifies the values of Christian relationship and attitude toward the Church, school and community. This student lives his/her daily life guided by these finest qualities of Catholicity. Here is Claudia with the School Council Chair, Mrs Jordan and Mr Wu.

Claudia with Mrs Falotico, the school secretary. Claudia was an office helper this year and for years was the carrier pigeon between Mrs Falotico and I for School Council paperwork.
The girls with Mrs Kelly, all the girls had Mrs Kelly for Grade 2. She has since retired and still volunteers at the school to play the piano for the choir.
Claudia and Mrs Jordan, her teacher this year for Grade 8. She also taught Angela and Gillian in grade 8.

Claudia and Mrs Foster, Claudia had Mrs Foster for grade 6, she is another teacher who taught all three girls, the first was Gillian in grade 1.
