Claudia has her make-up game at 9:00 am Saturday morning. We arrived at 8:30 for practice ahead of time. Unfortunately the other team only had six girls show up, they need seven to play the game, so Claudia’s team won by default. They still played a fun game with some of the coaches playing goal.

A couple Claudia’s coaches getting in on the fun. Her team has a bye to the semi-finals and if they win that it’s onto the finals. Unfortunately we will still be on holidays and won’t be back in time.

In the afternoon, Angela had her make-up game, it was a little hotter and the sun was beating down on the spectator side. They ended up tied 4-4 against the first place team. Her team plays in the quarter-finals this week. Some of the subs trying to get some shade.

This weeks photo is from Claudia’s game on Monday night. She is in the air kicking the ball. Their team won the game with no problems. The girls will miss their playoff games as we will be on our road trip.

Angela’s game was on the worse field for watching the game, let alone taking pictures, it is looking directly in the sun. They played a good game and even with shoddy refereeing they won 3-0. She didn’t call a water break during the first half. Most refs will call usually two water breaks during the half. In the second half she called Angela’s team offside, even though there were still two players from the other team way downfield. We think it was a conspiracy, the refs father coaches her sister on one of the other teams in Angela’s age group.

This weeks Soccer Photo of the Week is from Angela’s game on Thursday night. They only had 10 girls, so there were no subs and they ran all game. It was a great game against the first place team. They played them to a 2-2 draw. Here is Angela throwing the ball in.

This is my soccer photo of the week, I like it because of the look of determination in Claudia’s eyes, she isn’t looking at the ball just to kick it, she is looking downfield. The girl in yellow gives the sense of action by her foot and arm actions.

Claudia’s team played to a 2-2 draw, they had a lot of chances, just couldn’t finish them off. Angela’s game was scheduled for Thursday night, the league cancelled all games due to the extreme heat alert.
