MAC Welcome Day

We headed out to McMaster for MAC Welcome Day. They run a series a talks geared to new students and parents and the opportunity to tour residences again. We spent the day with Gillian on campus. Afterwards we went to Andrew and Jeannette’s for a BBQ and swim.

I think Gillian was laughing after Uncle Andrew dropped one of the weenies on the deck.

Congratulations Gillian!

Gillian has accepted her offer to McMaster’s Life Sciences program starting in September. Exciting times are ahead for her. Her next task is to submit her residence application.

May @ MAC 2013

After getting home late Friday from Chicago we headed out early for Hamilton and McMaster University. Saturday was their annual May @ MAC open house. Gillian wanted to visit again to see the Life Sciences and tour the residences again. We dropped Grandma and the girls off and then headed to campus with Gillian and her friend Veronica. Gillian wasn’t keen on Matthews Hall where I lived for two years. After 38 years they are renovating the outside of the building, the inside still looked the same.

Gillian has until June 3rd to make her final decision. Her friend Veronica was accepted to McMaster for Life Sciences and Nursing. If they both go to McMaster it would continue their 14 years of schooling together as they were both in the same junior kindergarten class.

Decisions Ahead…

Congratulations to Gillian on her early acceptance offers from the University of Ottawa and University of Waterloo for their Biomedical Science programs. She has also applied to McMaster University and the University of Guelph. She is very excited and Susan and I are very proud of her.

uOttawa

Susan and I took Gillian to Ottawa on Friday for the uOttawa Day. It was an opportunity to hear about their Science programs, tour the residences and campus. We drove up Thursday night and came back Saturday morning. We enjoyed an extra day of sun and 22°C that went through Mississauga on Thursday.

The University of Ottawa campus is right downtown, next to the Rideau Canal and only a few minutes walk from Parliament Hill.

After a busy day on campus, we headed over to Parliment Hill for a walk.

Chateau Frontenac.

Angela and Claudia stayed home and Grandma Swan came down for a couple of nights.
