Toronto Maple Leafs Baseball

Claudia and I headed down to Christie Pits to see the Toronto Maple Leafs season opener.

It was a great day weather wise for baseball at Dominico Field.

They were playing the Ottawa Fat Cats.

The price is right, there is no cost, the programs are also free. The hotdogs are a reasonable $3 and there is a 50/50 draw for some good prizes.

Claudia enjoying the game.

There was a lot of action, especially on the base paths.

The great thing is being able to walk right up to the fence and watch or planting yourself on the grass up the hill.

Toronto won the game 6-4.

Angela had her Confirmation today. Steve stepped in to be Angela’s Sponsor.

Rattray Marsh Clean-up

Angela’s Pathfinder group were volunteering at the annual Rattray Marsh clean-up this weekend.

We park at jack Darling Park and walk over.

Chloe came with us this year.

A shopping cart that someone pulled out.

We walked a different route than last year.

Angela and Claudia looking for garbage.

Flowers were in bloom.

A nesting swan.

Down on the shingle bar.

Gardening

Angela and Claudia were planting some seeds, except Chloe got ahold of their pots.

And the chase was on.

Captured and scolded.

Chloe slipped through their net and was now a few steps ahead of Angela.

Her exercise done, she gave the pots back and it was time to relax.

Training

I was on a training course this week at the Canada School of Public Service down at 1 Front St. I was taking another supervisor course, only one more to go. Lots of construction in the area.

There is a Bixi bike station just outside 1 Front St., according to their website they have 1000 bikes and 80 stations in Toronto.

BIXI was created for short trips. Usage fees encourage frequent utilization for short periods of time. First, you have to subscribe or acquire a 24-hour or 72-hour access to use the service. Take out a bike as many times as you want. Trips of 30 minutes or less have no additional fees; usage fees apply for longer trips.

You can take a bike out for a maximum of 24 hours. After that time, the bike will be considered stolen and a fee of $1,000 will be charged to your credit card.
