Regina International
Got to the airport and found out the plane out of Toronto was delayed. At least
they have free wireless in the departure lounge. A chance to post some of the pictures
I took today. The contrast between a crop field and a blue sky can make for interesting
views.
A gopher hole, seems that there are more around this summer, by the way they talk
about them, you think they are huge, I saw one and the squirrels back home are bigger.
Crop close-up, if I knew what it was I wouldn't be calling it a crop.
Being from the city this is something that takes awhile to get use to. This was
just a practice as you can see there are no vehicles in sight. But that is the thing
to do on the back roads when approaching another vehicle, even if you don't know
them.
Gas prices in Regina!
Saskatchewan Sunset
When I left the site today, there was a crop duster spraying some of the adjacent
fields. I kept my window open long enough to get a picture.
Not sure what he was spraying, but the crop looks like this.
The day turned out good weather wise, they had forecasted rain for the Regina area,
the temperatures got up to 29 deg.C, but there is no humidity.
After dinner I headed back to the site to change one of the programs on a data logger.
While waiting for the calibration to start, I caught the sunset.
Our precipitation collector.
I guess this why they have "Land of Living Skies" on their licence plates.
That is a zoom shot, from where I was standing it really looks like this.
Going!
Going!
Gone!
Guess where I am?
If you said Bratt's Lake, you've followed this blog. The site is 30 km south of
Regina. Here for a few days, sunny today, but they are calling for showers tomorrow.
Not often I get a rental vehicle with over 30,000 km on it, but in Regina it's possible.
I felt pretty safe on the flight out today, there were 2 OPP, 2 Toronto police officers
and 4 military guys, they were heading to the funeral for the slain Mountie that
was held in Regina today.
