Guide Camp...
Gillian is off to Guide Camp for the weekend. They are going to Bonita Glen near Hawkstone on Lake Simcoe. Hopefully the weather stays good this weekend.

Hard drive problems...
The hard drive on our laptop is on it's last legs, at least it will let me copy files to the other computer. Will have to get a new hard drive this week. Remember backup important files!!
Project update...
Claudia continued work on her project. She is doing Father Abraham as her community worker. After mass this morning at church we got a picture of Claudia with Father Abraham.
Here is Claudia in front of St. John of the Cross Church.
Angela is working on her maze project. Here she is in the early stages.
Instead of doing the standard mouse and cheese, she came up with the idea of a pizza delivery guy trying to find our house. Pretty clever kid.
Car Wash
We took the van for a car wash this morning, it made it better but will require some scrubbing to get all the salt off.
A couple of shots from in the car wash.
P.D. Day
The girls had the day off school today so we went out to Scarborough to see G-pa, some tobogganing, and celebrate Emi's 3rd Birthday. The weather was perfect for some runs down the hill.
Alex and Claudia coming back up the hill.
Here is a video clip of the kids tobagganing.
Gillian making her way back up.
Emi and her new "mittens".
I'm pretty sure Angela turned around after she got down the hill.
Claudia taking a break, sitting on the saucer that has to be over 30 years old.
Emi did pretty good on her own.
It was steeper than it looks, especially when trying to get back to the top.
Alex taking a turn on the saucer.
Emi with her eyes closed.
Gillian and Angela catching some air after going over the bump.
Gillian and Claudia on the last run.
All and all a good day on the hill, no casualties, except for auntie Carolyn who decided she would go down over the bump and landed hard. She blames the girls for making it look like fun.
Dr. Emi opening her present.
Around the world with Takao Tanabe
*NOTE: The Globe and Mail only allows free viewing of their articles for a limited time. I am pretty sure I made a PDF file of the article. When I find it I will link to the article. *UPDATE: I found the copy which should be good.
There was an article in Monday's Globe and Mail Newspaper about Uncle Tak's retrospective show at the McMichael.

Project Season...
We're into that time of year, school projects, Gillian just finished her project on endangered species. Her species was the giant panda. On top of that she has been working on her speech that is due this week. With hers out of the way, Angela and Claudia both have a project due in the next couple of weeks.
Gillian made a comment that there was no pictures of her playing the Wii on the blog. So here is a video of her playing tennis. The only bad thing about the Wii is the girls will have a hard time learning to play real tennis because of the bad technique and habits they will have picked up playing on the Wii.
Here is a video clip of her playing Wii tennis.
It must be the name?
Did anyone see the article in the Toronto Star last week about the world's oldest woman? A Japanese woman is thought to be the oldest now at 114 years old. In the same article it says the world's oldest man is Tomoji Tanabe, he is 111 years old.
Sick Bay...
Claudia was in sick bay yesterday. Not sure if it was the many rounds of boxing she did on Saturday or the chocolate cake she ate just before bed. Here is a video clip of her Wii boxing.
Wii Are Family...
Thanks to Lori wii have a family of Mii's. Confused, perhaps the pictures below will help.
Wii have a new addition to our family, it is the Wii gaming console. It is still a much sought after video gaming system, they are trickling into stores and demand is high. The Wii-motes (controllers) are just as hard to find. One of the things you can do is create a "Mii" character to use when you play the game. Each of us created our own Mii, except for Susan, the girls created hers. The console comes with Wii Sports, it consists of Bowling, Baseball, Golf, Boxing and Tennis. Here is Angela playing tennis.
Another shot of Angela playing.
It is quite amazing the way this game works, it actually gives the kids a bit of a workout. No longer will we have to worry about the girls having giant calloused thumbs from playing video games.
