Both Angela and Gillian made it out of their classes for the speech competition and have moved onto the gym to compete in their respective divisons, Ang in the Juniors and Gillian in the Intermediates. Angela's speech topic is "Peanut and Nut Allergies" and Gil's is "How Media Influences Teens".
Here is a flash video of Angela's speech.

Susan and I are very proud of both Angela and Gillian, they both did an excellent job.We took advantage of the good weather and headed downtown on Saturday. We drove to Yorkdale, parked and took the subway. The day pass for the family is $9.00 for unlimited use for our family. Here was our route, we started at the Bay subway station and ended at the King subway station. Point B was the Toy Shop on Cumberland, C was the World's Biggest Bookstore on Edward and D was the Mountain Equipment Co-op on King St.
Angela with a giant Playmobil guy at the Toy Shop.
Here we are walking along Yonge Street at College.
Stop number two was the World's Biggest Bookstore.
We stopped to watch the Chalkmaster for a while, Angela put some money in his wishing well.
Yonge/Dundas Square
That guy has one bad headache.
Continuing along Yonge Street.
We cut through the Eaton's Centre.
It was over to The Bay where Angela was blending in with the display.
Then out onto Richmond Street.
The site of the new Trump International Hotel and Tower, it will be over 900 feet tall, and the tallest residential building in Canada.
We took the streetcar from Bay/King to Peter/King to go to the Mountain Equipment Co-op. Angela tried the rock wall.
I don't think she got as high as last time, but it was probably the boots, maybe next time she should try a pair of climbing shoes.
Gillian watching.
After the MEC we went to Starbucks, we were waiting for the streetcar and it was taking forever, and there seems to be one on every street corner according to the girls. Here is Claudia being a turd.
Here is a group shot of the family, even I got in the photo.
We finally caught the streetcar back to the St Andrew subway station, we decided to get off at Museum stop and look around. They had renovated the station platform awhile ago and we had only seen it through the window of the subway.
Angela looking like King Tut.
Next blending in with the Totem pole.
Trying to look like pillars.
Riding home on the subway.
Best buds?
Angela moved on to the Mississauga North Family of Schools speech competition this afternoon. She was up against 15 other students, she drew the number 8 position. The first 8 were very good and in the end the 1st, 2nd and 3rd went to the early speakers. Angela did not place but still did an excellent job. Here she is with her medal and certificate from the school and her certificate and pin for the Family competition.
Friday was Sports Day at school. There was an outdoor ball hockey game between the teachers and students from Grade 7 and 8. To get in the spirit students were suppose to wear a sports jersey. Gillian is wearing her soccer jersey from when she played 9 years ago.
Both Angela and Gillian were camping this weekend with Angela's Guide group. Some of the alumni Guides were invited to the camp. That left Claudia as an only child for the weekend. It was a quiet weekend.
