Chloe Chronicles 2
A few pictures of Chloe from during the week. She turned 10 weeks on
Friday.
She loves her bucket.
Angela and Chloe.
Chloe playing frisbee with Angela or also known as chewing.
An action shot of Chloe running around the backyard in a frenzy.
Loki from next door trying to get a closer look at the furball running
around.
Sometimes she poops herself out and plops down on the grass for a snooze.
Is she really asleep? or pretending?
Can you tell where she has been, perhaps the yellow petal from the black
eye susan's gives it away.
Getting belly rubs from Claudia.

Bath Day
Today was bath day for Chloe, I thought why not take her for a good run,
get her tired out and then give her a bath. We headed over to the
Meadowvale Conservation Area not far from the house. The girls found a
sloth tree (a tree which allows them to hang like a sloth).
There was lots of open space for Chloe to run around. We stayed clear of
the GINA picnic. GINA is short for "Greyhounds In Need of Adoption". It
is an organization that tries to find homes for retired racing
Greyhounds.
We stayed clear of the Hogweed. It looks like giant Queen Annes Lace,
the sap is bad news if it gets on human skin.
We remembered there "use to be" a bridge to cross over the river.
It wasn't very nice down by the river, lots of broken glass and beer
bottles.
We were teaching Chloe her name.
Some of the leaves are starting to change already.
We found another path to the river and when Claudia stepped towards it,
the ground moved. It was a garter snake that freaked her out. Later I
started stopping on the ground and he started to slither away.
Claudia poking around for more snakes.
Chloe was tired out after our walk, she decided she was going to lie
down in the shade.
The girls with Chloe.
We headed back home and started to get her bath ready. It wasn't her
favourite thing, she looked like the drowned rat.
Here she is shaking away in the backyard. She looked pretty good
afterwards.
Of course she was rolling around in the rocks and grass as soon as she
got the chance.

Cockapoo Humour
It's been a busy week for the family, I just finished giving a 2 day
workshop to six of our regional inspectors on our air and precipitation
sampling program. It the third workshop I have put together this year
for various sampling programs. The last time I gave this one was 3 years
ago, so I was a little rusty, but it turned out well.
Susan had a night meeting yesterday and had to miss the first night of
Chloe's puppy lessons. The girls and I went and Chloe did well. When it
came time for free play, they let the puppies off the leash and they can
play with each other. The other six dogs were running around the room
and ours sat by our feet.
Tonight was our first School Council meeting of the year and it looks
like I'll be Chair again this year. When I told them I would probably
not be able to make the next meeting in October, the principal was more
than willing to set the next meeting by my schedule. October will be a
busy travel month for me, I have trips to Saratoga Springs, NY; Island
Falls, SK; Chapais, QC; and Nashville,TN all in a span of about 6 weeks.
Hope Chloe has some room in the dog house for me.
This little cartoon originally was sent to us in the mail by Aunt Gert,
and a little digging on the Internet found the on-line version. The
timing was perfect for us. Thanks! Aunt Gert.

Chloe's Cousins
We headed out to Hamilton to Lori's to introduce Chloe to Mickey and
Nike.

Later on Barney showed up, he is Dale's Moms dog. You can see Chloe
hiding out under Angela's legs.

Chloe's Invisible Shield
Chloe seems to think that her bed has an invisibility cloak around it.
Whenever she grabs something that she shouldn't have she runs to her
bed. Here she is with one of Claudia's stuffed animals.

Chloe Update
It's been awhile since we have done a Chloe update. She is still growing
and keeping us busy.
She loves playing with her margarine container. She is getting better
with the shoes, we don't have to hide them in the closet as often.
She is going to the groomers next week and then the week after she is
going in to get spayed.

Happy Halloween
Chloe was looking out the window waiting for kids to come to the door.
See Angela in the window.
The three girls ready to go out.
Chloe didn't keep her skirt on very long.
We only had about 20 kids come to the door. The girls and I went around
the neighbourhood and they got a lot of "take what you want, we haven't
had very many kids".

Chloe Back Home
I was off today for Remembrance Day, so I went to the school for their
Remembrance Day ceremony. They do a great job and the last couple of
years they have invited a bag piper to participate. Chloe went in
yesterday for her surgery. She was spayed and had her back dew claws
removed.
She was very happy to see me when I picked her up. She stayed overnight
at the vets.
She is doing well, we opted for the laser surgery, so her recovery
should be quicker and there are no stitches.

Chloe and Bella
We went to Ikea for the breakfast combo today. The breakfast combo is
the $1.00 breakfast and because we're there we inevitably buy the rest
of the combo. The best way to keep the combo down is to take the Yaris.
While we were there Gillian received a text from Sarah to see if we
could let Bella out through the day. We thought why not just bring Bella
over and her and Chloe can play, or rather Chloe could bug Bella all
day. Eventually Chloe settled down and she followed Bella around.
I had them outside for some photos. I asked them to look at me.
Then look up and to the left.
Look away from each other.
Look at each other.

Another Play date for Chloe
Chloe had another buddy over to the house. Karen who was our sitter for
the girls and now comes over and lets Chloe out during the day has put
their house on the market. They were having a couple of showings
tonight, so they asked if Hailey could come over for a couple of hours.
Susan and I had a School Council meeting, but the girls were home. Karen
has brought Hailey over during the day when she lets Chloe out, so they
get along. Of course Chloe being the puppy she is, gets all spazzy and
is always bugging Hailey.
Chloe waiting for her picture to be taken, but Hailey wasn't
co-operating.

Chloe's Sweater
I made Chloe a sweater to keep her a little warmer in the snow. I had
made Coco a sweater like this years ago. Here is Chloe modelling her
sweater.
It is made from a hockey sock. Not having any lying around the house, I
had to go buy one. We picked the Detroit Red Wings colours since it was
closest to the Team Canada colours. Our other choices were the Habs
(never!), the Kings (black on black, we'd never see her at night) or the
Leafs (didn't want her buddies to make fun of her).

Chloe and the Snow
Chloe is still adjusting to the snow. The first morning it really snowed
she spent a lot of time running around trying to catch the snowflakes.
She digs, she eats the snow and she pees wherever she wants. We
shovelled off the deck and some of the grass area for her. Since there
is still snow on the deck she hasn't quite figured out that under the
snow is the deck. Next time it snows we'll have to shovel just a trail
for her to get out to the grass. Claudia shovelled the deck and more of
the deck is showing, so now she goes right out to the grass.
She comes in from the outside and she has snow all stuck to her beard.

Chloe likes to look out the window, especially when someone goes out the
door.

Chloe and the Snowman
The girls built a snowman on the back deck and Chloe sat there and
barked at it for awhile.
Eventually she stopped barking and decided she was going to chew on his
arm.

A Dog-filled Christmas
We headed out to Lori and Dale's for Christmas dinner. We brought Chloe
with us to celebrate with her buddies. We thought there would be four
dogs, but it turned out to be five. Sara and Brent showed up with
Pretzel, a Rat Terrier/Chihuahua cross.
Lori's Christmas Tree with a few presents still under it.
Here are four of the five dogs, Chloe and her black coat sticks out like
a sore thumb. Mickey and Nike are getting old and for the most part
ignored the puppies.
Here are Kiely and Chloe, it's not what it looks like, They were tearing
around the house and then they would come barrelling down the stairs.
When Chloe got to the second step, she would leap off the stairs, this
time she came down right on top of Kiely. Kiely is a couple of months
older than Chloe and has more energy than Chloe.

Grandpa with his new Wii.
Emi and Pretzel.
Brad, Lisa and a couple of dogs.
Chloe waiting for the door to open. Mickey and Nike have a bowl of food
that sits out for them all day, and when Chloe discovered it she was all
over it, hence the reason the door is closed.
The girls and their jar of flavoured jelly beans. The general consensus
was that nobody likes the popcorn flavoured ones.

They finally tired and took a break.

Chloe Update
It's been awhile since I've done a Chloe update. She is up to 14 lbs,
and Susan thinks she has stopped growing, I think she still has a little
more to go. She started out in the bed, but she slowly ended up sleeping
on the floor.
She loves her bucket, this one has cracked, but she still plays with it
everyday. We'll have to look for a new one in the summer.
What little snow we got this winter sure liked to stick to Chloe. She
would come in covered in snow.

Crazy Weather!
Hope you got a chance to get out and enjoy the crazy temperatures,
Mississauga reached 24.3 °C on Good Friday. Here is Claudia, her friend
and Chloe hanging out on the front lawn.
Chloe is enjoying the good weather, she has been especially interested
in the birds. It must be the Cocker Spaniel in her.
We headed out to Mom and Dad's place on Good Friday. Chloe travels well
in the car, her and Angela are ready to go.
Sara and Brent brought Pretzel with them, so Chloe had someone to play
with.
Danny had the kids out at the park playing soccer. Claudia taking a
break.
Alex.
Things were going well until Danny stepped on Alex's foot with his
industrial soccer shoes.
Here is Chloe telling Pretzel to wait his turn to look out Grandma's
window.
Chloe telling Pretzel to hurry up and look out the window.
Hey wait a minute I think there is enough room on the stool for both of
us.

Back to Blogging
I am finally getting around to updating the blog for this summer, it's
not that we haven't been doing things, if anything, we have been doing
too much. It will take a while to get this complete, I've taken close to
2000 photos since the last post back in May. Last night we watched
"Diary of a Wimpy Kid" outside in the backyard with the Carr's. This has
been our 4th or 5th movie this summer that we have done outside. Last
Sunday we watched "Get Smart". I've gotten the set-up to the point where
it only takes 10-15 minutes and we now have four locations we can mount
or makeshift screen between our house and our neighbours.
On Friday morning, Angela, Claudia, Chloe and I were up early to head
over to the Leash-free dog park. It is about five minutes from the
house. Claudia and I went last Saturday morning, but it was after 9:00
am when we got there and there had to be over 30 dogs at the park. Chloe
has quite figured out what she is suppose to do. She barks at the big
dogs, sometimes running towards them, but as soon as they turn, she high
tails it back to us. Friday she would run under one of the picnic
tables. Here is Angela doing some scooping after Chloe did her business.
The girls managed to find a caterpillar while they were in the woods
with Chloe.
The girls have been looking after Lily and Loki, the two pugs that live
next door, for the past couple of weeks. They have been feeding, playing
and walking them while our neighbours are away. Their oldest is home,
but not always around. They have been watering the plants and veggies as
well. Here is Lily trying to get in our house.
Chloe has been playing with the pugs everyday, her and Loki run laps
around the backyards. By the evening she is pooped. Here she is kind of
in and out of her bed.
