Report Cards and Interviews
Angela and Claudia brought home their report cards this week, they both
did well. I went in for the interviews with their teachers today.
Claudia's teacher was filling in for a mat leave, so he is finished in a
week and then Claudia will have a new teacher. Angela's teacher was
Gillian's teacher in grade one, that was her first fulltime teaching
gig. Gillian is on semester so she received her mid-term report and her
highest mark was in gym, go figure. She is doing good and has adjusted
well to high school.

Chloe and Bella
We went to Ikea for the breakfast combo today. The breakfast combo is
the $1.00 breakfast and because we're there we inevitably buy the rest
of the combo. The best way to keep the combo down is to take the Yaris.
While we were there Gillian received a text from Sarah to see if we
could let Bella out through the day. We thought why not just bring Bella
over and her and Chloe can play, or rather Chloe could bug Bella all
day. Eventually Chloe settled down and she followed Bella around.
I had them outside for some photos. I asked them to look at me.
Then look up and to the left.
Look away from each other.
Look at each other.

Another Play date for Chloe
Chloe had another buddy over to the house. Karen who was our sitter for
the girls and now comes over and lets Chloe out during the day has put
their house on the market. They were having a couple of showings
tonight, so they asked if Hailey could come over for a couple of hours.
Susan and I had a School Council meeting, but the girls were home. Karen
has brought Hailey over during the day when she lets Chloe out, so they
get along. Of course Chloe being the puppy she is, gets all spazzy and
is always bugging Hailey.
Chloe waiting for her picture to be taken, but Hailey wasn't
co-operating.

Chloe's Sweater
I made Chloe a sweater to keep her a little warmer in the snow. I had
made Coco a sweater like this years ago. Here is Chloe modelling her
sweater.
It is made from a hockey sock. Not having any lying around the house, I
had to go buy one. We picked the Detroit Red Wings colours since it was
closest to the Team Canada colours. Our other choices were the Habs
(never!), the Kings (black on black, we'd never see her at night) or the
Leafs (didn't want her buddies to make fun of her).

Santa Visit
The girls and I headed down to the mall for the annual photo with Santa.
We went to the Erin Mills Town Centre where the "good" Santa is. As
always, as we wait in line waiting for him to come we wonder if it is
the real Santa. We got to the mall just before his 6:00 PM shift started
so the line wasn't bad. When it was the girls turn, Santa's first
question to Gillian was how old she was. Gillian told him and at the end
when they were leaving he said to her "your a good sport!". As I was
waiting for the photo, I could hear Santa saying a little louder than
usual "what kind of hair dryer was that?".

Chloe and the Snow
Chloe is still adjusting to the snow. The first morning it really snowed
she spent a lot of time running around trying to catch the snowflakes.
She digs, she eats the snow and she pees wherever she wants. We
shovelled off the deck and some of the grass area for her. Since there
is still snow on the deck she hasn't quite figured out that under the
snow is the deck. Next time it snows we'll have to shovel just a trail
for her to get out to the grass. Claudia shovelled the deck and more of
the deck is showing, so now she goes right out to the grass.
She comes in from the outside and she has snow all stuck to her beard.

Chloe likes to look out the window, especially when someone goes out the
door.

Chloe and the Snowman
The girls built a snowman on the back deck and Chloe sat there and
barked at it for awhile.
Eventually she stopped barking and decided she was going to chew on his
arm.

Christmas Tree
We got our tree up and decorated. We discovered that some of our lights
didn't work, so Susan went to buy a new string of lights. The new ones
were LED and once we got them on, the LED's made the tree look green and
the old lights made the tree look brown. Of course that wouldn't do, so
the old lights needed to be replaced. For the first week or two, Chloe
thought the tree was her personal chew and water station. If she wasn't
trying to drink the water, then she was either chewing on the branches
or stealing the ornaments at the bottom of the tree. She is either
getting better or we have now moved all the ornaments from the bottom of
the tree and there is nothing left.

Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to all of our family and friends. Here is our yearly
family photo. We had two good ones, but this one caught Chloe giving
Claudia a big smooch.
Here is our photo of the girls in their santa hats.
And with their Olympic Mittens. See Chloe holding her hat.
The girls were serving at 8:00 mass, so they were up early to check out
what Santa brought. They were allowed to open their stocking presents
before church, but had to wait until we got back to finish. Here are
some round 1 photos.
Christmas Round 2
Once we were back from church, the girls were right into their presents.
Claudia behind her giant box of Lego.
Gillian with her hair dryer, I think this is the one Santa was asking
her about when they went to see Santa.
Angela with her very own camera.
A Dog-filled Christmas
We headed out to Lori and Dale's for Christmas dinner. We brought Chloe
with us to celebrate with her buddies. We thought there would be four
dogs, but it turned out to be five. Sara and Brent showed up with
Pretzel, a Rat Terrier/Chihuahua cross.
Lori's Christmas Tree with a few presents still under it.
Here are four of the five dogs, Chloe and her black coat sticks out like
a sore thumb. Mickey and Nike are getting old and for the most part
ignored the puppies.
Here are Kiely and Chloe, it's not what it looks like, They were tearing
around the house and then they would come barrelling down the stairs.
When Chloe got to the second step, she would leap off the stairs, this
time she came down right on top of Kiely. Kiely is a couple of months
older than Chloe and has more energy than Chloe.
Melissa and Eric checkng out her Netbook.
Alex sporting his 'fro.
Claudia on paper patrol.
Grandpa with his new Wii.
Emi and Pretzel.
Brad, Lisa and a couple of dogs.
Chloe waiting for the door to open. Mickey and Nike have a bowl of food
that sits out for them all day, and when Chloe discovered it she was all
over it, hence the reason the door is closed.
The girls and their jar of flavoured jelly beans. The general consensus
was that nobody likes the popcorn flavoured ones.
Pretzel playing with Chloe.
Melissa in her Obi-wan Kenobi costume. May the force be with you!

They finally tired and took a break.

Boxing Day
The Swan's were over for Boxing Day turkey soup and sandwiches. Susan
had made a turkey earlier in the week, but we weren't allowed to have
any (She did let me have enough for a turkey sandwich in my lunch on
Christmas Eve). Claudia had a hard time figuring out why Mom had made a
turkey, but we weren't eating it. Here is Grandma and Claudia playing
triangular Blokus.
Ready for dessert.

Waiting for the Snow.
The girls got snowshoes for Christmas, but no snow to go with it. Here
are Angela and Claudia trying them out in the backyard.
