Cadbury Mini Eggs Recall
I receive e-mails from CFIA (Canadian Food Inspection Agency) on
possible allergy alerts. Yesterdays e-mail was about the undeclared
hazelnut protein in the Cadbury Mini Eggs.
The Easter Bunny had brought some of these eggs to the girls. I think
the lot code is different but the UPC is the same.

May Contain...
One of the guys I work with brought in this cover from a container of
mixed nuts. If there are peanuts in the ingredient list, why are they
warning that it may contain traces of peanuts.

Dale's Milestone
We were out to Hamilton on Saturday to celebrate Dale's 50th Birthday.
Lori had a party for some family and friends. Dale's peanut-free cake.
Brad, Alex and Claudia waiting for cake.
Melissa having a hard time deciding where she should put the "50"
candles.
The birthday boy!
Angela helping Uncle Dale put on his birthday hat.
Next it was the necklace and the flashing "Kiss Me I'm 50" pin.
Now we're ready to sing Happy Birthday!
Up next were the presents.
And then finally it was time for cake, Angela and Claudia waited for
their guinea pig (aka Brad) to eat the cake first. If nothing happened
to him, then they would know the cake was safe to eat.
The peanut-free buddies enjoying their cake.
When the girls were making their birthday card, I looked for pictures
of them with Dale, I could only find ones of Dale with either Claudia or
Gillian, but not Angela. So here is at least one picture with Angela and
Dale.

Chapman's Rising From the Ashes
This week I was out near Chatsworth for work, we are installing a new
monitoring site at the Kinghurst Nature Reserve.
On the way back I went through Markdale, home of Chapman's Ice Cream.
Last fall they suffered a fire which destroyed their main production
plant. Here's what's the Chapman's plant looked like in July 2007 when
we went to the Markdale Ice Cream Festival.
This is what's left of it.
They are building a new plant in Markdale, currently they have a
temporary mini-plant operating. So far we haven't had any problems
getting ice cream at our local Superstore. They had a good supply in
their distribution centre before the fire to carry them through until
they started the mini-plant.
This picture is from their website. Imagines rows and rows of ice cream.
